Google pack
Google pack has been released today. This bundle contains a lot of top quality, freely available software. I've been using almost all of these excellent packages, but for a newbie, the google pack may be a good way to get them all from a single source.

I think, this package is targeted for the newbies.
The new internet users, before getting familiar with competing softwares, may get confined to the softwares included in this free package.
Many will consider the first - the best, later.
Thanks for pointing out the typo.
The Firefox in google pack is packaged with Google toolbar installed. It gives people using IE the option to take advantage of the Google toolbar.
Norton? Because it's one of the best Anti-virus. Norton charges a lot for subscription, so it is great that google is giving 6 months free. Sure, they could have given out some obscure or homebrewed Anti-virus, but perhaps the quality won't be as good as Norton Anti-virus.
NOT most people have all these software. And besides, google combined all these essential tools into a single download. It is true that people can easily go to 7/8 different download pages and download everything separately, but by combining them together, Google made it easier on our part. :)
